Dr. Andy Person serves in the president’s cabinet as Chief of Strategy and Advancement at Long Island University in Brookville, New York, with a focus on strategic planning, accreditation, and fundraising. He launched the White House Experience and Museum of Democracy at Long Island University that serves as the official home of the Society of Presidential Descendants formed by Americans with direct lineage to United States presidents. Members of the Society of Presidential Descendants include Tweed Roosevelt, great grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt; Lynda Johnson Robb, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson; Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of President Harry S. Truman, Massee McKinley, paternal ancestor of President William McKinley, and many more U.S. presidential families.
Dr. Person’s career began as an officer in the United States Navy where he served in Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Dr. Person led the safe navigation and flight operations of nuclear aircraft carrier USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and amphibious ship USS GUAM (LPH-9) in the Mediterranean Sea,Adriatic Sea, and Persian Gulf. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and is a member of the United States Naval Academy Athletic Hall of Fame. Dr. Person holds a doctorate in business.
